Golf late into the evening at the illustrious Tropicana Golf & Country Resort
It is regarded as one of the most enjoyable layouts in the Klang Valley. The Tropicana Golf and Country Resort features two courses – the nine-hole East Course and the 18-hole West Course – both catering for both the seasoned amateur to the casual Sunday hacker.
Rolling slopes and sweeping valleys will greet the visiting player but both golf courses are no pushovers, having been built to USGA specifications with water hazards built near target areas, bunkers and sloping terrain.
An intricate and modern drainage system ensures that weather-disrupted rounds can be resumed after 15 minutes even after a heavy downpour. In the dry season the courses remain green as a result of the automated sprinkler system.
Those who start their rounds late because of work or afternoon meetings can still finish an 18-hole round as the last nine holes of both courses have a similar flood-lighting system to the one used in the Barcelona Olympics.
Since the East Course was built in 1993 it has continued to become a favourite, like the West among the golfers in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur and further afield.
Those who finish their rounds can relax in the largest clubhouse in the country, measuring 380, 000 square feet. The mall-like clubhouse has won a number of illustrious awards, including the Bloomberg Best Golf Development Award with the highest five-star rating in Asia Pacific, Bloomberg Best Golf Development Award with highest five-star rating in Malaysia and Best Clubhouse/Facilities Award in Golf Malaysia Magazine Readers’ Poll.
