Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club joins PGA Tour’s TPC Network
The illustrious Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club will now be known as TPC Kuala Lumpur joining the PGA Tour’s famed Tournament Players Club (TPC) network that includes the world-renowned TPC Sawgrass.
The move symbolised a major milestone for the leading golf club as the acquisition of the tour’s licensing rights made it the first golf club in South-East Asia to be given such recognition.
The newly named TPC Kuala Lumpur was officiated recently by Her Majesty the Queen of Malaysia Tuanku Hajah Haminah.
The highly acclaimed 36-hole golf course which is owned by Sime Darby Property is a choice venue for leading tournaments like the PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic, Sime Darby LPGA and the European Tour’s Malaysian Open from 2013-2015.
Members of TPC Kuala Lumpur enjoy additional access to 34 clubs including the renowned TPC Sawgrass, TPC Scottsdale and TPC Harding Park.
Owned, operated, and licensed by the PGA TOUR, the TPC Network comprises of 34 premier private, resort and daily fee golf properties designed by some of golf’s most elite architects. Twenty of the clubs are operated by affiliates of PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. Each TPC has hosted or has been designed to host TOUR-sponsored golf tournaments.
TPC Sawgrass first opened its world renowned PLAYERS Stadium Course in the fall of 1980.
