Award-winning golf club Kota Permai Golf and Country Club who in 2016 were named as one of Top 10 golf courses in the country by US-based Golf Digest, besides numerous other accolades over the years continues its quest of excellence by bringing more talent on board.
The club recently witnessed the appointment of Sheren Yong as senior club manager. Sheren, who joined Gamuda in 2009, brings a wealth of experience with stints in Berjaya Group and Gamuda Land’s clubs – Jade Hills Resort Club, Botanic Resort Club and Gamuda Land Recreation Club.
Sheren spent 12 years at Berjaya where she was a “Million Dollar Achiever” in sales for many years.
At jade Hills she held a pioneering role in the club’s opening in 2009 and was instrumental in securing a number of new non-golfing members. She was also involved in an event staged at Jade Hills in 2010 organised by Miss Tourism International beauty pageant where Gamuda Land and Jade Hills were one of the partner sponsors.
At Botanic Resort she strung together a list of achievements, most importantly turning around the club financially within two years. She helped expand the facilities, implemented the control system and enlarged the membership base.
“I oversaw both JHRC and BRC operations. I was involved in planning and setting up of upcoming new recreation clubs both locally and in Vietnam,” she said of her role as Senior Manager of Gamuda Land Recreation Club.
Sheren is taking up golf lessons and hopes to play the game soon.
On what she wants to achieve at Kota Permai she said her immediate goal would to tweak some of the amenties and to raise service standards.
Her long term goal – “Keeping pace with the company’s business plan and continue the successes to elevate the club to higher plateaus of recognition in the Asia Pacific region.”
