Four things to do in KL when not golfing
Malaysia’s capital city is abuzz with frenetic activity, try one or all of it!
Kuala Lumpur, or simply KL is not just a treasure-trove for golf but for many other interesting activities and places to go to.
Bird’s Eye Tour
One of the most amazing ways to gaze upon the major landmarks in the city is to take the KL Helicopter Tour where an experienced pilot will take you on this whirly bird criss-crossing past the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and beyond.
Canopy Walk at FRIM
Just 20 minutes out of the city is the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, also known as FRIM. Located over a 600-hectare expanse it hosts a stunning mix of flora and fauna, including some rare plants. The centrepiece is a canopy walk suspended 30 metres from the ground and runs 200 metres which affords deep insights into the glories of tropical forestry.
Sunway Lagoon Water Theme Park
Who doesn’t love splashing about in this heatwave? Sunway Lagoon lies in the Greater KL region encompassing within its 80 acres a thrilling array of rides and activities that should keep you soaked to your bones but happy as a lark!
Mines Cruise Tour
The Mines City is often called one of the seven wonders of Malaysia with its mega-size facilities that include the Robert Trent Jones Jr-designed golf course, the stylish Palace of the Golden Horses hotel, among others.
The cruise takes visitors across a 1,000-acre park where they will get to walk on the man-made beach and visit the other part of this humongous complex which once hosted the world’s biggest open-cast tin mine.
